Some people drive without auto insurance thinking they will never get caught without it. Maybe they think they drive safe enough to never get in an accident. Having auto insurance is very important. You could be the safest driver out there and still get into an accident.
I was one of those people. I didn't get into an accident or have anything happen to my car. I was pulled over at a routine traffic checkpoint. I didn't have any points agaisnt my license or anything. The officer asked for my insurance card and I said I didn't have it in the car.
The officer gave me a ticket to go to court for not having insurance. When I went to court the judge asked if I had proof of insurance for when I was pulled over. When I said no the judge suspended my license for 3 months!
Driving without insurance is stupid in so many ways. I know I learned my lesson. Not only did I lose my license for 3 months, but when I got it back I had to carry an SR22 bonded insurance!
