Even Italy's automobile manufacturing industry is tumbling nowadays. New car sales in this country dropped by as much as 30 percent in January, with some auto makers even seeing their sales drop by 50 percent.
This is most probably because prospective buyers postponed their purchases in the face of a probable incentive program by the government.
Last month, auto maker CEOs and government representatives talked in Rome to discuss probable ways to stimulate the market.
